Acupuncture and Chinese Medicine

Better Qi flow, better health

Meet Aiko

I am a Washington State Licensed Acupuncturist and Eastern Medicine Practitioner. I completed my Acupuncture and Oriental Medicine training at Bastyr University and my first entry-level doctoral degree program, Doctor in Acupuncture and Chinese Medicine (DACM) at Oregon College of Oriental Medicine.

Over the years, I have been helped by this fascinating medicine in various ways. This is why I became a practitioner: to take my part in providing more options to treat and manage various health challenges.

Chinese medicine is an individualized medicine. In Chinese medicine, we believe that the same symptoms can be caused by different causes, and the same cause can manifest as different symptoms. Trying to understand a patient as a whole, not just a particular symptom, is the principle of practicing this medicine. That is why I strive to understand each of my patients well and come up with a unique treatment plan. I believe each of us has the potential to heal our bodies, and my job is to optimize your potential using Chinese Medicine approaches.

I look forward to being part of your journey to well-being.

  • Skin and Respiratory: eczema, acne, seasonal allergies, hay fever

  • Women’s health: menstrual issues, infertility, menopause-related symptoms

  • Pain: headache, acute and chronic musculoskeletal pain, joint pain, carpal tunnel, plantar fasciitis

Additional modalities may be applied based on the practitioners assessment. The modalities includes following but not limited to:

吸い玉 Cupping Therapy:

Using a small glass cup with suction, we treat muscle tightness and stagnation of Qi and blood.

推拿 Body Work: Tuina is a type of Chinese medical massage which is often used to treat musculoskeletal pain management but also used to promote internal wellness.

お灸 Moxibustion (Moxa): Adjunct to our acupuncture treatment, we use the Chinese herb mugwort to treat various health issues. These warming herbs will be placed indirectly or directly to your skin to promote natural healing internally.

薬膳 TCM Nutrition consultation: During the session, if you wish, the practitioner can provide nutritional suggestions and advice based on traditional Chinese food therapy theory.
